An operating system (OS) is system software that manages computer hardware and software resources and provides common services for computer programs. Nearly every computer program requires an operating system to function. The two most common operating systems are Microsoft Windows and Apple's macOS.


Windows is the operating system; Microsoft Office is a program. Think of it this way .... Your operating system is like the engine of your car.

The creator of Python, Guido van Rossum, actually worked at Google from 2005 to 2012. The first programming language I learned was Clipper5, a very old language, however, I only used that when I was 8 years old after that I learned Java, and a year later I switched to C# and got immersed in the .NET world. C# was the first programming language I used professionally, and it was the only programming language I was using professionally for a very long time, however, the market started to require fewer C# developers over time, and while there are still a lot of job offers for C# other languages are taking over and gaining share in the market.
